Anyone driving past the Clearwater Municipal Services Building at Pierce Street and Myrtle Avenue on a Monday evening will see a gathering of a lot of people and a whole lot of food. It's not a picnic. Or a rally. It's dinner — a home-cooked meal for 150 to 300 homeless people served up by volunteers from St. Jerome's Catholic Church in Largo. (to read the article...)
Santa Maria Mission in Need of Food and Donations
Even before the first Mass was celebrated at the Santa Maria Mission in December of 2001, Fr. Robert Morris, then the pastor of St. Mary Parish in Tampa and now the Vicar General of the Diocese of St. Petersburg, recognized the tremendous need located within his parish boundaries in an area known as "Suit Case City" in north central Hillsborough County.
